A little help from my readers

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

It’s been a while since I asked, actually pled, for your help in SHARING, PROMOTING a cat I have embraced as one of my Paw It Forward efforts. Scotty is the young adult cat, maybe 3 years old, who is now embraced by me and Mom L and Dad P as an OFFICIAL Paw It Forward effort.

You saw Scotty for the first time as part of my Friday Memes blog post.

Meet Scotty, abandoned by his “human family” when they moved out of a large apartment complex very close to where I reside in my castle.

Mom L and Dad P and I have now helped over 40 cats from that apartment complex in the three years we have lived in my castle. Remember, at least 30 of those kitties were both kittens, juveniles and young adults in that pawful hoarding situation we stumbled upon in 2018.

Sweet Scotty was left behind when his humans moved. He thankfully eventually found my pawsome furriend Miss Kandi! She started feeding Scotty around May of this year. He was so very hungry.

Do you see how thin and dirty he was? This boy was so happy to find Miss Kandi. And then Miss Kandi and Mom L, Dad P and I lept into action!!

We got Scotty neutered! Whew! Then we tried surrendering him to our partners at our county animal services, but this darling boy cat just shut down. Soooooo—we found a temporary foster situation and just look how his in thriving!

Scotty is roaming around in a nice enclosure with four other rescued friendly abandoned cats. He is just the most gentle soul.

My request from ALL OF YOU WHO READ THIS BLOG IS THIS:

PLEASE SHARE SCOTTY FAR AND WIDE WITH ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO LIVES IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

Scotty deserves an indoor home. He is available for adoption and can have a ‘meet and greet’ anytime. Please contact Mom L at rodgerslcr at gmail dot com.

At the movies

HIYA SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Mom L has been busy, busy with our Project Delta View Cats group so I decided to share some movies with yo. This way she doesn’t have to do so much typing. Hope you enjoy seeing some of our experiences working with abandoned community cats here in our city of Pittsburg, CA.

This is Pipsqueaks mom cat. She was moving his little sister Ellie to a new, warmer location. Mom cats are so devoted and brave.

Next up is L’il Jo, the kitten who had the prolapsed rectum, remember? Look at her chow down now! Watch her ears!!! And yes, she can now poop properly!!

Finally, remember I told you that Pipsqueak’s brother Rocky was trapped the same night as Pip? Well, Rocky, all black just like Pip, is now living the life of an inside kitty! The family whose backyard is home to Pip’s former feline family have taken Rocky inside because he so wanted to be with people. He and resident kitty Sapphire bonded quickly. Check out Sapphire’s spit bath for Rocky.

I’ll share more of Rocky’s rescue story in a longer post. It’s worth the read, trust me.

Before I go, I want to report on my visit to Dr Josie at the Kitchen Clinic this last week. She did a blood draw and urine draw for a complete senior blood panel for me. Believe you me, it wasn’t my idea of a fun day. No sireeeee!!!

Seriously, not FUN!!

The results from the lab are back and sadly, I am at the earliest stage of chronic kidney disease, Stage One. Mom L and are feel fortunate that we learned this very early. I know she and Dad P will always make sure I have the best care and I still have years to go.

One last update on rescue Paloma

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I have the bestest ever Happy Tails Ending to share with you all. Remember my first post about Sweet Baby Girl that Miss Kandi was feeding? And then I shared that Sweet Baby Girl now aka Paloma had been saved by the University of California, Davis program Orphan Kitten Project?

Well, sweet Paloma had four kittens and eventually all were adopted. Except for Paloma.

Loving Paloma was entered into the UCD Fracture Program for rescue animals because no one knew if her broken front leg would need to be amputated or if she could heal it herself with bed rest. GOOD NEWS!! Paloma, with those first weeks of just hanging out nursing her four kittens HEALED her own broken leg.

Next challenge, getting the four kittens adopted and a special home for Paloma. She is only about eighteen months old, just a young kitty.

It happened!! A family who adopted a small doggy from the Fracture Program loved Paloma’s story and they adopted her!! And Paloma turns out to love being with a dog furriend more than a cat furriend! Love just happens, right?

At first Paloma was a loner, finding places to hang out in quiet. But then, she discovered that her new doggy pal had his very own condo? Of course, like any cat, Paloma decided that condo was big enough for two!

She is loving her new home and her new buddy.

Please give Paloma and huge APAWS!!!
