Monday Meowsie News

Hey, hey, hey…Savannah here! Hope efurrybody had a great weekend! Mom volunteered at an animal rescue big event as part of her work with the Contra Costa Humane Society, a non-profit animal rescue organization. They run the Kitty Corner Shelter where Mom and Dad found me. There was this really big event where lots of organizations have booths and raffles and give away things and stuff, so Mom spent some time handing out flyers for CCHS upcoming activities and what not.

So, I got to spend some time with Dad. I am still avoiding him just a bit ‘cuz of the nail trimming episode…he is the one stuck with grabbing me and holding me by my scruff…and of course it doesn’t help that I am more anxious of men in general than I am of women…anyways…me and Dad hung out.

Now my Dad loves this new magazine I turned him onto…Mousebreath: A Lifestyle Magazine by Cats and For Cats and Cat Lovers. So he saw a book review of this really cool book by Max the Psycho Kitty . The book is called The Rules: A Guide For People Owned By Cats by Max Thompson. Well in this book Max talks about using stuff around the house to keep your cat entertained.

Dad goes and digs around in the trash…he is so cute when he is trying hard to get on my good side, he’ll do just about anything!…so again, he digs in the trash and retrieves this gray tube made outta paper…I think it came from where he and Mom have their own litter box…it usually has lots of white soft papery stuff wrapped around it, then when that’s all gone, this gray tube thing is left.

Well, I digress…so Dad decided to save it and try it on me…’cuz Max the Psycho Kitty suggested it.

…first, I am not too sure at all…

…but then I attack it…rooowowwww…I circle around behind it….

…then I decide it must have gone under my scratch post…so I shove my paws under the post looking for it…of course not knowing it had snuck up behing me….

Oh My Cat!! If ya haven’t tried the paper tube roll thingy, give it a whirl…what a rush!!…I had to go cool off after that encounter…back in bed, natch!..

That’s what’s new in my corner of the world…what’s new with you today???

Oh What A Life

Hiya, Savannah here again…I have been thinking for a whilte…I have QUITE the life…I play, I nap, I eat, I use totally clean litter boxes courtesy of Dad and I get all the pets and brushes I will allow…not bad, huh?

I decided to share some of my fave times with you today…starting with my play time…which is usually also part of my fitness recovery process (I still have a bit of a tummy problem, but my butt is getting pretty shapely…tight gluts!).

Last night Mom and I worked on my abs some…and I also worked on my almost fully reclined Flying Squirrel Move I am learning from Mama Cat over on the Blog of Otis…I decided to modify her Flying Squirrel Move to half reclined and now I am working on the fully reclined…both require a lot of core control…ya know…tight abs…

…now Mom kept after me to get higher off the floor…but I had to remind her repeatedly…”this is the fully reclined” version…but…she just kept bugging me…so I had to give her the “look”…

..can you see the stupid buggy toy thingy she is still poking me with????…trying to get me to jump or something…I let her know I was done with the workout/play…OK?!

So that was some fave time last night…then this morning…another, well, maybe actually…my MOST fave time …is morning time in bed with Mom…mind you, Dad already has given me my brekkies…and now I hop back in bed with Mom and snuggle…we watch Good Morning America ’til she has to go to the gym…

..and she does this special rubbing just in front of my ear, ya know…that little sort’a soft spot right in fromt…ummmm….mesmirizing…puts me in this trance like mood…

…then she does this special chin massage…OMC! I just melt…..

Oh Cod! After that I can hardly move! Dad has to blast me out of the bed so he can make it…That’s why I think I have QUITE the life these days.

Then I usually go out to the front entry to meditate, chat with Nanuk, and patrol the front yard…

And that about sums up the ending and beginning of most of my days…What a Life, huh??!!

I’M MAKING CHANGES…

WOW! YEOWSER MEOWSER…WHAT A CHANGE A WEEK MAKES….

So this has been a total hallmark week…and yeah…”pun intended” ‘cuz you could have made a whole bunch of greeting cards out of this week in my autobiography…no, really, I mean it…Seriously…don’tcha believe me???!!! Come on…of course you do….

So..this week for a SUNDAY recap…

…brand new today…I rediscovered the wonderful white chair…for napping…especially when folks come over to look at our home to buy it…I hung out here today and NO ONE noticed me…except Dad and Mom of course (note the photos!!)…

…and then there is my progess in finding new places I can SAFELY take a ~~snooze~~ nap ….AKA Mom’s pillow…

..then there was the INCREDIBLE progress on the RETURN to the family room couch at night to watch TV and visit…

…and now…as of yesterday…Saturday…I have officially discovered NIP!!!!!!!!…..I totally luvluvluv this toy….covered in NIP….played like a fool….I just had to find it again last night…yeah, yeah, Mom got up and took it away…
