Discovery Friday: The Paper Bag

Oh Cod!! WHO KNEW!!!!!!

Guess I have been sort’a out of it before getting my new furrever home in January. I know some of you guys already know about paper bags…but oh cat! I did not!!

So my first time trying it out, I was kind’a timid…checking the bag out first…

…I mean…who knew what was inside that thing…but ya guessed it…cat curiousity took over…and I had’ta look inside…

…hmmmm…dark…then something kind’a moved at the back…so I looked a bit harder…

….then I thought “whoa”…I better step away and think about this…and there were sun puddles to be enjoyed…

Soooo….I am tryin’ out new toys and new things to play with and I am testing my confidence…I have lots more to tell you about but I will stretch it out for a couple of posts…wait ’til ya hear about my adventure in the Harry Potter Closet! Oh My Cat!!

The TP Roll Toy: Part 2

Hiya again, Savannah here…and oh my cat! What a night I had with that TP roll toy!! Whew!

I can’t believe I have missed out on this my whole life!! Thank goodness Dad read that book by Psycho Kitty! Anyway, Mom decided to rub the tube in a little nip just to see what would happen….

…first, I had to check it out…make sure no cooties or whatnot got on it…

…further examination…sizing it up to make sure I can handle it…

…now the first attack…using the left paw snatch move…

…got it…now give it the ole’ rabbit kick of death…yeah!…

…Oh Cat! (pretending it got away)…it’s alive…grab it…

…no, no, it’s going under the wood box…postitioning for a backward over the head grab

…aiiieeee!!! it’s going under…think fast…get my paw into it to hang on…

…ok, got the paw in it…ummmm….errrrrr…..ahhhh….wait a minute here….

Oh Cod!!! I’m STUCK!!! Yowl!!! Bite it….what the……!!!!

…maybe I can push it off with my nose…???…!!!

…got it off! Whew!!…aiieeee…where did it go???…noooooo…not under the wood box!!!

…let me see…I think I can feel it….hmmmmm

…rats! I can’t get a hold of it…maybe I can reach further….push, shove, stretch…..

…harruummmpphh…who needs it anyway…stomps away in a huff…

Monday Meowsie News

Hey, hey, hey…Savannah here! Hope efurrybody had a great weekend! Mom volunteered at an animal rescue big event as part of her work with the Contra Costa Humane Society, a non-profit animal rescue organization. They run the Kitty Corner Shelter where Mom and Dad found me. There was this really big event where lots of organizations have booths and raffles and give away things and stuff, so Mom spent some time handing out flyers for CCHS upcoming activities and what not.

So, I got to spend some time with Dad. I am still avoiding him just a bit ‘cuz of the nail trimming episode…he is the one stuck with grabbing me and holding me by my scruff…and of course it doesn’t help that I am more anxious of men in general than I am of women…anyways…me and Dad hung out.

Now my Dad loves this new magazine I turned him onto…Mousebreath: A Lifestyle Magazine by Cats and For Cats and Cat Lovers. So he saw a book review of this really cool book by Max the Psycho Kitty . The book is called The Rules: A Guide For People Owned By Cats by Max Thompson. Well in this book Max talks about using stuff around the house to keep your cat entertained.

Dad goes and digs around in the trash…he is so cute when he is trying hard to get on my good side, he’ll do just about anything!…so again, he digs in the trash and retrieves this gray tube made outta paper…I think it came from where he and Mom have their own litter box…it usually has lots of white soft papery stuff wrapped around it, then when that’s all gone, this gray tube thing is left.

Well, I digress…so Dad decided to save it and try it on me…’cuz Max the Psycho Kitty suggested it.

…first, I am not too sure at all…

…but then I attack it…rooowowwww…I circle around behind it….

…then I decide it must have gone under my scratch post…so I shove my paws under the post looking for it…of course not knowing it had snuck up behing me….

Oh My Cat!! If ya haven’t tried the paper tube roll thingy, give it a whirl…what a rush!!…I had to go cool off after that encounter…back in bed, natch!..
