Monday Meowsie News…

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

And yes, I am definitely NOT in a great mood today…my San Francisco 49’rs lost the Super Bowl…bummer…BUT…there is always NEXT YEAR!! And both teams gave us a great game!

Now, let’s meow about my recovery progress…I have been doing some exploring in the last few days…not anything special to most of you…but to me…a really, really big deal…you see, I don’t “explore”…I don’t “snoop”…at least not when and where Mom and Dad can see me doing it.

…but Mom caught me relaxing on the guest bed…I don’t go in there hardly at all…

I don’t have evidence of a couple of my recent explorations…but here’s what I did…

First, we have a king size bed…and Mom and Dad recently hung a really pretty weaving above it…I didn’t notice until a few days ago.  Mom was still sitting in bed, reading my furriends’ blog posts to me…and all of a sudden…I looked up above the headboard on the bed…and thought “WHOA”!!!  What is that???

DSC_0528

I marched right over to Dad’s pillows, got up on them and looked at that weaving…hmmmmm…there is this dark place behind it…wonder what’s up there???….so then I went around to his nightstand…climbed on top of his pillows…and used them to get my paws up on the headboard…and I hoisted myself up to take a good look at who or what might be up there under that weaving…

MOL!!! Mom was afraid I would try to jump up there…heh…heh

Next, yesterday, I finally noticed Mom’s nightstand has this interesting shelf under it…so I took a good look around…got on the shelf, checked out what was behind it.  I even poked my head through the wood bars and peeked up at Mom sitting in bed…winked at her…and then left…

You see…I don’t explore new things very much…so all of these explorations are about me getting more confident and trusting that nothing I do will be punished…kind of a great thing for this adult rescue shelter cat to learn….just sayin’…

…and finally…just a couple of days ago…I ran up onto my bird watching tower…I have not been up there since before the Christmas Tree arrived…and I did some checking out of a window sill…

peeEss…yesterday was my annual VET check up…you know I won’t allow being picked up…so Mom got me in Dad’s office…then I had no where to hide and she picked me up, held me close for a second and put me in my PTU.  Off to the VET, a new person as my first one is now retired and good friends with Mom and Dad…it is her cats they are visiting all this week…

anywho…(I am purrfect BTW), got my nails trimmed, temp taken, weighed (lost 2 pounds of my shelter tummy fat since last Jan…woo hoo!!…now a trim 11.3 pounds…just right for my size); got my rabies shot; toofies checked; heart checked; etc. They brought me home…Mom took the advice from all the interviews I have done, and instead of just opening the PTU and letting me run and hide…she took me back to Dad’s office; picked me out of the PTU, held me close a moment, then held me in her lap a moment and gave me soft pets…I stayed OK, no struggles; then Mom showed me my treat…my fave prescription kibble. I really had an appetite by then, so I dug in! I did not run and hide, let Mom pet me while I ate. And I came right down later for my dinner with Dad, and to get more pets and play time.  It was a NON-EVENT!  So Mom associated a treat, my kibble, with being picked up and held.  Thanks everyone for helping make my VET visit a pawsitive experience for all 3 of us.

Thursday Again! Yea! A New VBP Blog Hop!

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I get really pretty excited when it’s time to start a NEW VBP Blog Hop Week.

I use VBP lots of times all week long.  You will notice I use a “paw printpaw” next to all my words I think of as VBP.  I have placed the Paw Print on my side bar if you prefer to put that next to your  VBP words instead of the initials “VBP”…just a thought…

Once again…purrlease grab the badge below and put it on your VBP post.  Once you have PUBLISHED your post, come on back here and click on the blue linky face at the bottom of this post, and enter your PUBLISHED VBP post. That’s it…You will then be joined in our hop.  You can also chose to do your VBP post over the next 6 days and STILL enter the hop!

And you know by now, today is also the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop…sponsored by Pepi Smart Dog.

This is the really marvelouspaw thing about VBP…I can DO BOTH!!!  My Thankful Thursday post also has my VBP words.  Hmmmm…that’s something else to be Thankful for…I can do both…

Now…I am ALSO making this post my contributionpaw to The Society of Feline Gardeners…started by Miss Jonesie, a ladycat of renownedpaw gardening knowledge .  Jonesie can be found at Cory Cat Blog most days if she is not out in her garden.

Society of Feline Gardeners

This garden report is why I am thankful on this Thursday.  I still have flowers, and green things…and we have lots and lots of finches at our feeders because they like to live here in the Winter.  I am so thankful we still feed the birds and have pretty flowers to share with you all.

My garden has been flounderingpaw these last few weeks…we finally have had rain, very cold and even freezing snaps.  So my garden is more brown than green right now.

But, I sent Mom out with our camera to grab some photos of what IS blooming and looking pretty right now…we have a lot of blooming Camellia shrubs…at least that is what we think they are…this one is so pretty…that bright pink petal looks fake, huh?

DSC_0393

…this is one of the more maturepaw blooms of that same plant…

DSC_0396

…we have bright sort of coral/pink…

DSC_0386

…and then we have very, very soft pink…

DSC_0388

…we think these are Azaleas….

DSC_0373

…and this one is sort of purple…

DSC_0381

…and then we have two mystery type plants…we know this one is some kind of bulb flower coming up, we are excited to see what it is…

DSC_0398

…and this is some kind of like grass, or ground cover…it is uncovered now after the gardener cut back all the over growth…who knew there were all these other plants????

DSC_0403

Next Thursday I will show some other stuff we discovered in this yard once so much of it died off from cold snap and then the gardeners started to finally cut it back…Mouses!! We never knew what all was out there!!

Until my next Thursday Gardening Report to Jonesie…
