Savannah's Paw Tracks

Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Savannah “In The Wind”

I have been “in the wind”…until someone found me…heh…heh…

MOUSES!!!!!…not in her tent!!!!!!!!!…where is she…she must be so afraid!!!…hmmm…is that afghan moving up and down…hmmmm…

…aha!!!!!!!!!!!…Savannah, you heard and saw those construction peeps in our yard getting ready to paint!!!…

I was totally “in the wind”…they have lost me a couple of times recently…and only today realized I had found another way to use my tent!!!

“Yeah Mom and Dad…like you think I am some lame kitty who can’t find a safe zone???…seriously!!”

Paw Pats, Savannah

And…Mollie is hosting a pawty for her SECOND birthday…April SECOND …

Purrlease forgive me if I have missed someone’s special day for next week..I just know there is one more…sigh

So much going on…and finally…on Sunday March 31rst, I will post my best effort for Part Three:  The Power of Paw Social Media  in the Operation Save The Royals Series…no matter how much writers block I have…I will honor the peeps and kitties…who helped Save The Royals and the social media that made it pawsible.

And lastly, a heartfelt celebration of  Dori and her fight for life…she was helped to the bridge tonight…she was in the same transport, and a sisfur, with Lestat…life is not fair…it just “is”…bless Miss Dorian for all her efforts to rescue these precious lives from kill shelters…we never know what has happened to them before we rescue them from the shelters…we just love them as they are…and sometimes…their former lives catch up all too soon and they must dash to the bridge…Dori was luvluvluv’d…by ever so many.

Dori’s new Mom and Dad adopted Dori even though they still had sad hearts as they had only weeks before lost their precious mini to a fight with cancer. Dori filled them with love and joy again and then she became very ill. The cost to try and save her is high…if you can spare even a dollar, euro, pound…to help them…PLEASE CLICK HERE TO HELP…you can read about Dori and see the funds needed and what has been raised so far…thank mew all…

Angel Dori

Luv You Dori…paw pats, Savvy

  1. Glad you have a safe place.

Damn – another cat gone OTRB. God speed Dori – and you fought so hard. *bows head in respect *

    • it has been a hard lesson for me and Mom Linda to learn Dash..the kitties don’t always survive the rescue/transport…we lost 3 out of one transport…different reasons…none could be avoided…at least their last days and hours were filled with so much love.

  2. Moggie needs her space 🙂

  3. Hope you’re having a lovely Easter Savvy! Glad hidey spot you found:-)

  4. Happy Easter to all of you 🙂

I’ve lived here almost nine years and I **still** have a few secret spots the Human can’t figure out (actually, she *has* found most of them, but because she’s, um, old she kinda forgets from time to time so I can fool her pretty much endlessly!

    Hoppy Easter, sweet girl!

(me sneeked here to see yer post)

  7. You sure know how to hide, Savvy. I have my places too. I often wonder how safe the transports are. If one cat has something, will they all catch it? Wish I knew answers.

    • are not the first to pose that question…and I can only say…transports save more than those that may not withstand the stress…and while they are in the care of transporters, they are loved, cuddled, and spoiled. They would be killed in kill shelters without the grace of loving hands and human contact..IMHFO

You’re awfully good at the hiding business. You have real skill and talent. Good for keepin’ your parents on their toes, I should think.

    Hi Y’all!

My Human says you look like a kitty she had named the Gray Ghost or Ghosty.

    Happy Easter.

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  10. That’s a great place to hide out, Savannah, but we do hope those noisy peeps go away and leave you in peace.

    Happy Easter.

Woos – Phantom. Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  11. Such a newsy post! We love your hiding spot, Savannah, and think you are quite clever! Early celebratory concats to all and our sincerest sympathies regarding sweet Dori. Purrs from Zee and Zoey

    • Thank you Zee and Zoey and all the rest of the gang at home…it was a hard struggle to Dori and we hung in there with her and her Mom and Dad and all her other champions from Cute Heads…she was loved so much

  12. You are an excellent hider, Savannah. We usually “in the wind” when worker guys show up at our house.

We’re sad to hear that Dori has gone to the bridge…but she is with her brother now.

  13. You Mom is brave to check out a potential Blanket Monster! Thank Cod it was only you, Savvy!

  14. that was a very lovely post Savannah,xx Speedy’s mum

  15. Thank you, Savvy, for your post about Dori! I loved her, too, even though I didn’t get to transport her with Lestat and Callie. Miss Dorian is definitely a very special lady, and I think she does so many wonderful things!!!

And I hope you had fun being in the wind!!!! 🙂

I was very sad about Dori too, and sad for her humans who got so little time with her.

I don’t know what your humans were thinking, believing that you couldn’t find somewhere safe to hang out while the painters got busy!

  17. I’m not telling ANYONE,not no how, not EVEEEEEER where my secret place is…but I’ll whisper it to you in case you need another hidey place. (pssssrrppssaaapppsfffffpppss,OK?)

    • oohhh…pawsome…sweet! Dad looked for me on Thurs and couldn’t find me then again Friday and that’s when Mom saw that one side of my tent actually made a smaller tent…so she looked…I wasn’t there…but on the oooottttthhherer side the afghan was making that same spot all enclosed…so she peeked under and there I was…lookin’ at her like “whhhaaattt??”

  18. You are a smart hider, Savannah! If I hide under a blanket, Mom always opens a spot for my nose to breathe.

    Love and licks,

Great hiding spot Savannah! Me is impressed!

  20. Very clever of you Savvy…Hoomins are so easy to fool aren’t they? Wishing you a very Happy Easter! (PS Thanks for finding me)

  21. Savannah, when will the humans ever figure out just how resourceful we kitties can be. Whenever one of us is not in our usual spot, Mom immediately panics. Silly lady! You found an excellent safe haven. Purrs and hugs , Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

Hiya Savannah! Once when I was being invisible, my housekeeper saw a lump in the blankets and started patting it and cooing “is there a cat in there? Hmmmm — a good cat?” She finally figured out she was talking to the bunched-up blanket as I was somewhere else! MOL MOL MOL. Your friend Dinah, RWB (reader without blog.)

  23. Good job finding a great safe place to hide, Savvy! It’s always good to have spare safe places close at paw. You never know when the UPS man might show up.

I have yet to get a tent and I need one to be my fort! xoxoxo

  25. It’s good to have your own snug :o) Your tent looks perfect, wish I had such a place too :o) I’m so excited about the next week, so much pawtys… can’t wait… :o)

  26. Ha ha – love your safe place. I has about 4 that I use, depending on how “unsafe” it sounds around here. But my favorite is squeezing in the closet and laying on top of the shoes. It’s quiet, dark and totally safe!

  27. What a smart kitteh to find the best place in the house to avoid all the hub-bub and noise! Excellent job!!

We love your “tent” — that’s a beautiful afghan. Did someone special make it for you? It’s wonderful … and such a PURRRRRFECT place to disappear!

We are saddened all over again with the loss of Dori so soon after the loss of her brother. Bless Miss Dorian, indeed … she is a wonderful example for so many people about the love and care we should all exhibit for all of God’s creatures.

    Grace & Company
    and their servant!

  28. Good for you finding a QUIET place in your tent while all the hustle and bustle was going on outside. We kitties are quite crafty when it comes to hidey-hiding! There are a lot of celbrations happening this month…..we hope we don’t miss any of them. Certainly we will by to visit on your blogaversary though!

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

Waving paw...HI!...what'd 'cha think...??
