Leo Has A Project…thankfully
HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!…ok, ok…and Leo
Savannah: So this our first really “partner” post…and I am gonna allow encourage Leo to start us off…ok, take it away Leo…
Leo: Oh thanks Savannah…no, really, I so appreciate you letting me get this going…
…ahem…koff, koff…this is really new to me…but I am so proud to now pay forward to another pawsome Real Rescue Adult Cat– all the love, support and kindness I received from Savannah’s paw blog,Twitter/Anipals and FB furriends.
I have had so many of you give me help for my medical costs, help me promote my desirability as a companion cat…and you even made it possible for me to have a “hope chest” to take with me to my new furrever castle–I use my cat tower EVERYDAY! I just want to do this for another adult cat in need of a furrever home and I choose MARY!!
You can read all about her HERE…and HERE…to learn her original story. Savannah’s furriend Basil has a blog and he first posted about Mary as someone in his company found her.
Savannah: Ok, ok Leo…lemme add some stuff…you can’t just make everyone go read…you need to at least give them the broooooooaaaad picture…na’mean??
Leo: Oh, yeah…sure Savannah…you go ahead because I wasn’t around at the beginning of Mary’s story
Savannah: just a few impawtant things to know about Mary “then” and Mary “now”:
- Mary was found on the side of a country road; only 3-4 months old and already huge with kittens
- Her babies were aborted late and she was spayed by an excellent vet
- Mary was teeny tiny; very thin…
…now here is how Mary has been managing since she was found in early April…Mary “now”
- Mary has been renamed MJ
- Her skin has completely cleared up. The vets think that the skin condition is due to stress and not any other underlying issues.
- She has full run of the vets office and can often be found curled up in one of the dogs bed with the two Labradors that come with the nurses to work every day.
- When she is not helping out in the office she is either in the little flat upstairs or on an evening she has full run of the kennel section as she doesn’t like been cooped up!
- She goes home with one of the nurses on a weekend and has made herself a firm favourite.
Now Leo…back to you…this is your “paw it forward” pitch…
Leo: Mary needs a “hope chest/trousseau”…like I have…ya know…stuff she can offer to her future furrever home to encourage them to reach out and snap her up…just like she deserves.
Here are a couple of things she has already:
- One year supple of Harrington’s Cat food donated from Harrington’s Pet Food (sheesh..all my new Dad got was a bag of kibble and one case of food…this is for a WHOLE YEAR!)
- Mom Linda and Dad Peter will make sure Mary has 3 special toys…just what she likes
- Animal Couriers have agreed to make sure Mary is picked up and delivered to her new home within England. Mary now is fostered by the vet in Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire, England
What Mary needs in her “hope chest/trousseau”:
- A gift voucher equivalent to 50-75 GBP so her new adopter can buy her litter, litter box, a lovely special soft beddy ( you know…like Spitty’s pink beddy…Spitty is my heroe actually…sigh)… and what ever else Mary needs in her first week or so
So…ummm…shuffles paws back and forth…(whispers to Savannah…this is hard…what if they think I am being too pushy???)
Savannah: Leo! shush!…just meow it like we rehearsed…my furriends will share and tweet and Mary will get her gift voucher in time for moving to her new home…go on Leo…finish already!
Leo…ok, ok…ahem…so this is where I need help from all of you…we need to raise the funds for Mary’s gift voucher. There, I said it (ducks head in case someone yells at him…)
Mollie and Alfie agreed to receive the donations in their Mum’s Paypal account…belneameadow at gmail dot com–BE SURE TO MARK IT AS “FOR MARY” so Miss Stella can find Mary’s hope chest funds easily.
This was my idea because I thought that way all the Euros, dollars, pesos, etc. will be converted when you donate as a “gift”…don’t put “product or service” because Paypal will deduct from your donation.
Now seriously, if 50 of us only donate 1 dollar, Euro, etc…Mary will have the gift voucher funded in no time. Once her new adopter jumps up to fetch her home…Mary will receive a check in her post for her to spend on stuff she needs.
This is my way of saying THANK YOU to all of you for helping me; for believing in me and for making sure I had a furrever castle of my own. I am alive because all of you pulled and purrred and woo’d and woof’d for me…and I am sure there were some squeeks and wheeks in there too.
I am joining Pepi Smart Dog’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop with this post…click on the badge to go visit other wonderful Thankful blog posts.
Remember Mary when you find that change down in the cushions on your couches, in your glove box in your car or in your pockets before you toss your trousers in the wash…thank you…

Hi my piggy furriends. I just found you in SPAM!! WP is being spaced out this week. I will pop over shortly to see what you have. Thank you very much for anything you can do to help spread the word in England about Mary. If you know of any ways you can let your friends and families know, they might know someone wanting a special kitty. Paw pats, Savannah
Oops forgot to say (feel free to delete this Miss Savvy) Facebooked it and Pinned it!
PAWSOME DASH!
We have donated * proud ears * We are honoured to help! You are right Leo, if we all gave a dollar there would be enough! * high paw *
PAWTASTIC DASH!!! Mary just needs 50£. I will ask Miss Stella of we are close
MJ is beautiful! I wish her luck finding her furever home and getting her Hope chest together. Thanks ago to Leo for helping you. I’m gonna pin NJ and hope someone sees it.
hey CK…if you have any sway with @MrtibbsAP he has a ton of followers on Twitter and FB…and lots in England…if you know him…please encourage him to share MJ’s need I already sent him like 3 DMs via Twitter…no word back…I fret he won’t help…unlike him
Savvy, I know Tibbs has undertaken a major rescue of his own recently. I can’t do details but ‘snatching a cat from the jaws of death’ comes close….. This may account for a distracted ‘air’ from our chap. He is usually kindness itself.
Thanks for the heads up Dash. I have been gone from regular twitter for too long. Tibbsy was one of my first anipals and he helped me build my FB likes to 50. He always tweets my Real Rescue Cats/Doga Are Talking interviews. Paw waves, Savvy
Ummmmm CK…just wonder in’ …I won your CD in the auction for Miss Laura and Marigold. I paid but have not received the CD. Lookin forward to your tunes. Thanks, Savvy
TW just mailed it today. It’s been raining and she just hasn’t gotten out of the house and to the post office. She risked getting rained on today.
pawsome! just wanted to make sure all was covered…except TW’s bod’ gettin’ wet MOL

How good of you to allow Leo to have a voice today Savvy and a *highpaws* to Leo for paying it forward…Maybe his furever home will let him have a blog too? So we will have to send our bit to Molly’s momz so MJ goes “home” in style
Squeee! Gizmo, you are so kind to help MJ fill her hope chest. We couldn’t do a lot ourselves, we donated 30USD which isn’t much in GBP but every single 1,2,3,4,5$£€ helps
Leo, we think it’s so great that you want to “paw it forward” and help MJ fka Mary find a furever home! She sure is a beautiful house panther. We just know the purrfect home is out there for her…’specially with all of us getting the word out about her!
many thanks and paw pats Ernie, Zoey and Wally..you are the very bestest

We did a post today and linked to you! Paws crossed Miss Mary gets her Forever Home (and a full hope chest) soon!
thank you, thank you KL Mob! You are the best! She can’t live at the vets…but they have been so kind to her and Animal Couriers will now make sure she is collected from vet and delivered anywhere inside England!! And a WHOLE year of free cat food!
Meowm was gifted with $50 for Emilys current vet bill, so she shared $5 for Mary. It isn’t much, but we like to help where we can.
OMG!!! How PAWSOME!! thank you so very very much Miss Rhonda and Emily. And Emily we so hope you feel better way fast…paw hugs, Savannah
Oh Savannah and Leo – this is so sweet…..we hope MJ’s new family sees her quick and takes her home!!

Mary is a real beauty and we just know in our furry hearts that a furever home is just a moment away!
MJ is a ral beauty and I just know something terrific will be headed her way.
how do you and your family do this Brian? This rescue is hard work. And so disappointing so often it seems. I ache for Rachel and Ray C and all those trailor park kitties.

Hi Savvy and Leo we have shared this on google+,we nearly gave her a home a while back but in the end we couldn’t because Speedy’s dad was concerned about how much impact on Speedy she would have seeing as he is blind in one eye.But we so want her to have a happy safe home,xx Speedy’s mum
Oh Speedy thank you and your family for considering sweet MJ. And I found your comment in my SPAM! WP is being very naughty right now! Purrlease tell any friends and family about MJ cuz it will be all of you in England who help her find her home…social media is the most help we can give her. Paw pats, Savvy
Sweet Savannah and sweet Leo we are hoping sweet Mary finds her forever home very soon. We wanted to put a link to your post on our site but WP won’t let us post today we have tried several times. We could not post yesterday either…have no idea what is going on. We can read and comment on blogs but when we try to post the page will not open up. 😦 You are just so sweet to help kitties find their forever loving homes. Hugs and nose kisses
We finally got WP to post so we linked to your site on WP and Blogspot. Hugs and nose kisses
just left comment…THANK YOU!!
WP messed up my Monday post big time. It made comments closed for my post!!! I did not even know how to find where to check it; Sammy’s Mom helped me and I got it cleared up. Then on site stats all of a sudden is show April 22 2013 as most viewed date with 418 views!!! The most Savvy ever had was a week ago when I launched Leo’s castle search and it was 350. THen today, the site stats were reset back to the real ones. WP is having problems!
This is a great idea! Well done, Savvy and Leo.
What a WONDERFUL project and a GREAT post! Leo, my man… you’re an EXCELLENT writer. You must take after Savvy, huh?
I’ve shared and tweeted and will do so again.
Purrs,
Nissy
Hey Nissy…ummm..can I call you that? I don’t to make symptoms and all. Anyway, thank you for your generous compliment. nose rubs and head bonks, Leo
Leo, That was a very good job. Maybe your new dad, Dave, will let you have your own blog. We would love that. Good luck to MJ. We know that your plea will help tremendously. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
I love black kitties – they are like small panthers. I hope MJ will find a wonderful home. Thanks for this post and your help :o)
Mary is such a gorgeous House Panther and we LOVE how she gets along with doggies. Purring she finds a forever home that is purrfect for her. We will do what we can to help.

Well done Leo – fantastic post for a brilliant cause. Thanks Savvy for helping Leo out. I remember posting about Mary when she first arrived. So sad that such a sweet angel has yet to find a perfect home but I’m sure with everyones help, she’ll find one soon. If my data time lasts long enough, I’ll be sure to post about this. Great job guys!
Oh poor little Mary – what a rough start she had but thank heavens she was rescued on the road and given some medical care…..she looks so much better now and obviously will make someone in the UK a dear and beautiful pet – her eyes are gorgeous. Thanks for telling us about Mary and I’ve put a linky on my blog today to HERE so people can read more about her and hopefully help too!
Kitty Hugs to you Miss Savvy and you Mr. Leo for helping Mary….
Sammy (and his Mom)
Fantastic idea, hope you get lot’s of donations 🙂 xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Nothing so far. Mom and Dad will make a donation later
What a wonderful idea, to pay it forward, Leo!
I sure hope Mary gets a new home soon, its so sweet of you to help her xxx
It is not clear is MJ would get on well with other cats and ideas?
Sorry went to carry on typing but clicked return DOH. Love the chest idea xxx
Oh sorry, yes, she has no problem with the kitties larding, they are in cages, but she never taunts them or hisses or growls. We are sure she would do fine, and she is so young, not quite a year
