Friday Frolics

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!! Not a lot of frolics going on around here…except for The Kid Sage of course. I have been having some fun checking out the controls in my Three Way Teleport Tunnel…Mom caught me doing some fine tuning on the space time continuum calibrations…getting ready for our next search for the elusive long forgotten Necata canipbis…but I am totally digressing…ahem…

What? The space time calibrations need some work!

What? The space time calibrations need some work!

I have also been making sure everything around my step is in order and no one has made any adjustments in the height…I would totally know because then my front legs would like be dangling or something…

Yup, just the right height

Yup, just the right height

It has been pretty tiring doing all that work so I of course have been doing some of my frolics on my back…na’mean???

Frolic, frolic, frolic...zzzzzzz

Frolic, frolic, frolic…zzzzzzz

Ahem, koff, koff…moving on… Mom visited her friend Dr Josie, (Dr Josie was my Vet before she retired), and she got a great look at one of Dr Josie’s 6 cats being hospitable to a wee kitten she is fostering for a couple of weeks. The adult cat is 12 year old Captain Folker, of The Kitty Platoon

captain fokker uniform

and the kitten is a foster …Princess Violetta who is all of about 10 weeks old.

She has been running with the Captain and his other indoor brothers for a couple of weeks…she had a promised home…but they said they couldn’t take her right away for two weeks..then they abandoned her..”she is too small”…WHAT?.

CAN YOU BELIEVE???…anyway, she has already developed a long list and now down to a short list of adopters and will be headed to her forever home next week…but not before Mom got these shots ala silhouette…(click to bigify and see whole captions)

Well all is well that ends in a hiss I say…and I have some recent experience with that as you know…heh…heh…Princess Violetta took off after one of the other Kitty Platoon members and the Captain returned to his nap.  The Princess has selected one suitor to entertain over the weekend…she will likely be in her forever castle ASAP!!

I have been saving some photos of The Kid Sage until Mom Linda was like TOTALLY DESPERATE for something to post on my blog…she truly is a crazy sisfur…yeah, yeah…I allowed her on my king size bed this morning without a hiss, TWICE…guess she is gonna wanna be my sisfur…bummer, huh?…heh…heh

peeEss...The Kid Sage has a harness to play with…ok…to be tortured trained with because it appears she may, just may have some inclination toward being a therapy cat.  Only time and Dad’s love and training will tell…but she is so amazingly confident, yet gentle and trusting of all humans…it is a possibility…and well…Mom and I decided Dad needed a new project!!!!!!!!

Thursday Purrsday

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

My purr motor is cranked to high right now because I am working some Paw It Forward Projects.  And I am hoping you will help me with both of them…all you have to do is share, share, share…that’s it…and if you want to or can do more…PAWSOME!!

Paw It Forward ...My Passion

Paw It Forward …My Passion

Now, I also missed my most favorite post to write...Blog 4 The Change…so I am counting this one as my contribution…late…but just the same…I intend to BE THE CHANGE every day of every week of every month of every year that I am able…and Mom Linda and Dad Peter both have my back on this.

B4TC

Now this first Paw It Forward Project is complete.  BUT…you can all join in to help just by thinking about sharing on your blogs, Twitter and Face Book…and for some of you this may be tough.  It has been for me.  You see, my pal Nissy works hard every day to post the Pets on Death Row list for the New York City Animal Control Center (NYC ACC). He shares it via his Face Book page…and I just hated seeing all those cats looking so miserable.

Then I learned about ‘making pledges’ to save a life or lives.  You see every day of every week non-profit rescues try to pull as many of the dogs and cats from the NYC ACC system as fast as their funds will allow.  I discovered that if I saved as much as $5 USD each month, I could ‘pledge’ that for a particular cat….I don’t see the woofie list, sorry…and maybe, just maybe my green papers will help a rescue with strained funds, but with a big heart, be able to pull just one of those cats.

So, my pal Nissy looks for me…tells me at the beginning of the month when he sees a cat he knows needs special help and I hop on line, click on that cat’s photo and make my pledge. That’s it.  I can only do this once a month, but in one year…I will hopefully help save 12 cats.

Please meet my first kitty I have been able to help avoid being PTS by NYC ACC…Meet little Miss Hicks…

Hicks

Eleven months old, cited as ‘owner surrender/stray’…she is pregnant.  Now, thanks to Feline Rescue of Staten Island, she is safe.  She will have her babies, they will be properly socialized and made adoptable and Hicks will be spayed and also helped to her forever home.  By literally hundred of us sharing via Face Book the plight of Hicks, we raised enough for the rescue to know they could afford to pull her.

All I ask is that each and every one of you consider finding a way to help those who are courageous enough to post about Pets on Death Row…just think…if each of us saves one or more cats or dogs a year…we ARE THE CHANGE…MOST IMPORTANT…you do not need to donate green papers…but find a cat or woofie you hope to see saved and SHARE, SHARE, SHARE…no green papers involved in that…just sayin’…

My next Paw It Forward Project which is ongoing.  This little ladycat has been a resident at my former shelter for far too long.  She, just as I, was labeled, or as my BFGF Cathy Keisha might say ‘profiled’…Tiny is her name and she is a tuxie wonder!  And long thought not able to change so as to be adoptable.  And then my wonderful staff at Contra Costa Humane Society decided to take her out of the cat population at Kitty Corner and bring her into their offices.  TINY BLOOMED!!!  She will have been at Kitty Corner for one year come this July…I am asking all of you…not matter where you live to SHARE, SHARE, SHARE Tiny…you never know who you know who may know someone who lived in California.

We will make sure she can be transported within 4 hours of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Please welcome TINY…

She adores running water, loves catnip, plays with toys galore, does zoomies up the hallway, regularly headbutts us for affection

That’s it for my Paw It Forward Projects.  Because of this I join Pepi Smart Dog’s Thankful Thursday Blog hop…click on the badge to be transported to others…

Friday Frolics

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Well it seems you all REALLY enjoyed getting to know The Kid Sage a bit better…so I am going to do a little bit of this post…then let her have another go at trying to write as well as I do…heh…heh…

I had some real work cut out for me this week.  You see my former veterinarian, Doc Josie…she has chickens…not just a couple…but like a bunch…maybe 10!!  All girls…so lots of eggs and the eggs come in many colors…and they are like way fresh.  In fact…they often arrive at our home decorated in whatever is lying around the chicken yard…na’ mean???  This time…one egg in particular was very suspect…

This egg is wearing a feather hat!

This egg is wearing a feather hat!

You can see why Mom let out a little giggle…then she brought that egg to me…knowing I would be able to determine its edibility…

First…the sniff test…

Yes...'that' is an egg from a chicken...it smells like a chicken yard

Yes…’that’ is an egg from a chicken…it smells like a chicken yard

Next…the taste test…

Just a little lick...make sure it is not a fake chicken

Just a little lick…make sure it is not a fake chicken

I gave my approval and Mom took it back to put it in her cold box.  What, or what would she do without me to do the sniffin’ and tastin’???

Ok Kid…you can take over from here…go…*gives The Kid Sage a hiss for encouragement*…get to writing.  Those words don’t come easy you know!

“But Your RH Savannah”…mews Sage…”What if they don’t wanna hear from me so soon?”

“Kids”…whispers Savannah…*pads away leaving The Kid Sage on her own with the keyboard and a blank page.

Sigh…ok…here goes.  Hey everyone, I’m back!  It’s me, The Kid Sage!  *wonder what ‘The Kid’ means????*  And I want to share one of my favorite games I created just to play with Dad.  We can only play it in my bedroom which he shares with me at night so I won’t be alone or scared. We play sometimes before getting in bed and I came up with this cool game!

Here…you can watch…I call it “Hide And Swat”…the first video is me giving a demo and the second one is my version of Round Two…*giggle*

And here is Round Two…this involves some aerobic efforts like running…

Isn’t that a ton of fun?? I just adore playing with Dad.

I also have this really cool photos to share with you…Mom took them of me while my Dad was holding me…I was pretty embarrassed…but he talked really soft and nice to keep me calm. (Savannah told me you can click a photo to bigify or if you want to see the whole caption and you can hover over a photo to see the caption)

*Sage looks over her shoulder–whispers to readers*…shhhhh…don’t let HRH Savannah know I showed these photos…she is always saying how scared she is of me; how she has to keep her eyes locked on me at all times to protect herself…check out our afternoon together in the living room with the big bird TV channel turned on…

Keeping an eye on me

Keeping an eye on me

And just see how much I terrify her…while I am still watching the bird TV channel…she is shivering with fear…HAH!! NOT!

Remember…shhhhh…I just know Savannah won’t be happy if she knows I blew her cover…

Thanks for visiting me, I had fun and hope you did too.  *meows over shoulder to HRH Savannah*…”you want me to turn the computer off now, I finished?”  “Sure Kid, turn it off. Better not be any typos in that post” grumbles Savannah going upstairs to bed.
