Thursday Purrsday
HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
My purr motor is cranked to high right now because I am working some Paw It Forward Projects. And I am hoping you will help me with both of them…all you have to do is share, share, share…that’s it…and if you want to or can do more…PAWSOME!!
Now, I also missed my most favorite post to write...Blog 4 The Change…so I am counting this one as my contribution…late…but just the same…I intend to BE THE CHANGE every day of every week of every month of every year that I am able…and Mom Linda and Dad Peter both have my back on this.
Now this first Paw It Forward Project is complete. BUT…you can all join in to help just by thinking about sharing on your blogs, Twitter and Face Book…and for some of you this may be tough. It has been for me. You see, my pal Nissy works hard every day to post the Pets on Death Row list for the New York City Animal Control Center (NYC ACC). He shares it via his Face Book page…and I just hated seeing all those cats looking so miserable.
Then I learned about ‘making pledges’ to save a life or lives. You see every day of every week non-profit rescues try to pull as many of the dogs and cats from the NYC ACC system as fast as their funds will allow. I discovered that if I saved as much as $5 USD each month, I could ‘pledge’ that for a particular cat….I don’t see the woofie list, sorry…and maybe, just maybe my green papers will help a rescue with strained funds, but with a big heart, be able to pull just one of those cats.
So, my pal Nissy looks for me…tells me at the beginning of the month when he sees a cat he knows needs special help and I hop on line, click on that cat’s photo and make my pledge. That’s it. I can only do this once a month, but in one year…I will hopefully help save 12 cats.
Please meet my first kitty I have been able to help avoid being PTS by NYC ACC…Meet little Miss Hicks…
Eleven months old, cited as ‘owner surrender/stray’…she is pregnant. Now, thanks to Feline Rescue of Staten Island, she is safe. She will have her babies, they will be properly socialized and made adoptable and Hicks will be spayed and also helped to her forever home. By literally hundred of us sharing via Face Book the plight of Hicks, we raised enough for the rescue to know they could afford to pull her.
All I ask is that each and every one of you consider finding a way to help those who are courageous enough to post about Pets on Death Row…just think…if each of us saves one or more cats or dogs a year…we ARE THE CHANGE…MOST IMPORTANT…you do not need to donate green papers…but find a cat or woofie you hope to see saved and SHARE, SHARE, SHARE…no green papers involved in that…just sayin’…
My next Paw It Forward Project which is ongoing. This little ladycat has been a resident at my former shelter for far too long. She, just as I, was labeled, or as my BFGF Cathy Keisha might say ‘profiled’…Tiny is her name and she is a tuxie wonder! And long thought not able to change so as to be adoptable. And then my wonderful staff at Contra Costa Humane Society decided to take her out of the cat population at Kitty Corner and bring her into their offices. TINY BLOOMED!!! She will have been at Kitty Corner for one year come this July…I am asking all of you…not matter where you live to SHARE, SHARE, SHARE Tiny…you never know who you know who may know someone who lived in California.
We will make sure she can be transported within 4 hours of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Please welcome TINY…
She adores running water, loves catnip, plays with toys galore, does zoomies up the hallway, regularly headbutts us for affection
That’s it for my Paw It Forward Projects. Because of this I join Pepi Smart Dog’s Thankful Thursday Blog hop…click on the badge to be transported to others…
Finally, I have been gone too long from my girl furriend Jonesie’s garden report…so sorry Jonesie…here is my garden…
Hope you approve Jonesie…
Paw Pats, Savannah
