Feels so good to Paw It Forward
You are going to want to grab some snacks, a little beverage and pull up your ham-mik…this was a busy rescue weekend!
First, I was out just taking in some fresh air in my vintage race car when I saw someone I knew on the side of the road…Mouses! What a surprise…

Tabbie has been a resident at my former shelter, Kitty Corner, and she has been waiting a long, long time…over a year…to find her furrever home. And there she was, stranded with no ride and only her carrier. Well I was not having any of that, I just packed her into my ride and took her straight to Mom L and Dad P.
We need to get Tabbie to her new home…fast! And she needs to stop off at the Vet to get her boosters and a fresh mani/pedi…can’t go to your furrever home ragged claws!
So we went back to Kitty Corner and of course our wonderful Adoption Manager, Miss Chrissy, had a lot more things for Tabbie to take with her. Tabbie was just so eager she forgot. We loaded up her favorite, small cat tower and a bag of new toys and some canned food and treats. Tabbie took a quick inventory of her things and stopped to let Dad P give her some chin scritches.
Where are my new toys?
Good, the carrier is clean
Awwww…thanks for reassuring me
Tabbie likes to talk to you about everything – the weather, politics, what she ate earlier, the crazy dream she had, you name it! She is a real chatter box…hope her new Mom is ready for some long conversations…just sayin’…
So loaded up…off she goes…

Tabbie was delivered successfully and she made her acquaintance with the resident cat at the front door…that cat didn’t seem to want to chat…so she hurried off to check out the bedroom…
Quiet resident cat
Hmmm…no dust bunnies
Tabbie finally has her furrever home…

Oh yeah…we volunteered to introduce Tabbie and her new Mom to my expert Cat Vet…unfortunately Tabbie will need a dental right off…her new Mom has had cats before; but we still offered give her and Tabbie a ride if they needed it.

The peeps’ work was still not done. They also took Sylvester, a Tuxedo mancat, who is eight years old, to the vet on Friday…he is very ill. And on Saturday after giving Miss Tabbie a ride, Mom L had to take Sylvester to the vet hospital for over the weekend. He is being watched for symptoms of hepatic lipidosis. Many of you know that Mom L and Dad P have LOTS of experience with this dread syndrome having saved Cuzin Leo’s life last year…if you missed it…you can read about some of it here…and there are many more posts following his fight for life and recovery.
Sylvester is a very brave mancat…and he sings the song of his tribe with gusto…we tried hard to embed an audio file but alas…no luck…
We are hopeful for Sylvester as he is still eating on his own…paws crossed…but he has dropped 4 pounds in the last 7 weeks…he was 13 pounds when pulled from the kill shelter…he is at 9 pounds…

Sylvester’s face is very thin now, so please send him healing purrs…he will likely have an ultrasound scheduled ASAP. Sylvester was so brave…
I am proud to have so many opportunities to Paw It Forward…do you have special Paw It Forward stories to share?
