Caturday…Another Oldie

Hiya! Savannah Here!

Here’s another one of my early blog entries…March 18th, 2012.

CONFESSIONS OF A BED HOG

Yeah, That Would Be Me…

“Yeah..so…about last night. We had company for dinner…I hadn’t met her before…but I let her come in our bedroom and brush me a bit. THEN I smelled something weird but familiar on her fingers…and zippo bango..right under the bed I went!!! YEP..ya guessed it…DOG! Mixed with a bit of cat to be fair…but SCCAARRRYY!

So..Dad, Mom and Cynthia (her name) watched her photos from her African Safari…yeah yeah you say… how the heck could I know it was Africa?! Folks..seriously…I can hear and see… and..yep..I really do watch the TV…and those were some totally wild animals on that screen!!

What’s on TV?

Anyways…I cruised through the family room a couple a times just to make sure they knew I was around…then she left..so I came out and watched TV with Mom and Dad…then let them know it was bed time cuz when I go up and go down the hall…wellllll…theyyyyy knowww….I want Mom in bed with me to keep me warm!

OK, last time I am gonna drop the hint “bed time”

So..it’s 2AM..(so Mom says)…she wakes up…and well….ummmm….I…ahhhh…errrr…well, I am sort’a like butting her off her share of the bed!! Hey, guys, how was I supposed to know we each only get a third..???..guess I was taking mine and most of Mom’s.

Then Mom tries to turn over to elbow me over some..she gets to her tummy to take more space…yeah, yeah…I did it…just what you are thinking…as soon as she did that…I almost jumped to get between her legs and as close to her butt as I could…veryyyy warm…yes! Course, Mom still was shoved against the head board…ouch!

Then I hear her say “bed hog”…and realized…Oh Cat!…she was talkin’ about me!! MOUSES!

Guess I kind’a didn’t sleep lots after that..worried ya know…maybe I had gone too far…after all…I had just been adopted and what if they decided to return me…I fretted all night.

So it’s been a hard tough day today…so I had to take a nap!”

That’s it for today…too tired…back to ya all later…TTFN, Savannah PS…Mom says I am snoring!!!!

Can you believe I used that hokey little kitty face instead of my own gorgeous face??? So, well…so lame!

Hope you sniggered some over the writing and photos…we used lots of blurry photos in the beginning because all Mom and Dad used were those stupid iPhones of theirs…sheesh…way better now…

I stuck in the middle photo from more recent times…you can tell, huh?

Funnies For Friday…

Hiya! Savannah Here!

Well, as you already know, I have to use some of my OLDER posts ‘cuz Mom has now been gone about 10 years…and she took Dad with her…sigh…yeah, yeah, I know…I have Auntie Shannon ~~wrapped around my paws~~ here to snuggle and play with, but it’s not the same.

Anyways, I asked Mom if she had to use OLD stuff, at least use something fun!

This is a letter I wrote to my former roomies at Kitty Corner to let them know how I was doing. I had only been with Mom and Dad for about 3 weeks by that time, and already I was so changed from when I lived at Kitty Corner.

I wrote:

“Boy, I had a great Christmas, hope all of you did too. I learned to be around other people beside FM (foster Mom) and FD (foster Dad). Scary, but I handled it pretty well. Only went under the bed once!!

So, we had company for Christmas dinner. And guess who came from KC (Kitty Corner)??

Suzanne!…you know her—she sounds different, and her hubby, Kevin joined us. I was really pleased to see Suzanne, and I let her pet me and I even purred for her and talked to her just a bit. She was so sweet—said she liked my voice as she had never heard it.

And Kevin, well, he is a guy—and I am still kind of afraid of them. But, I was going to let him come into our bedroom and I was going to say hi—but guess what he said!!!

“I was hiding quietly behind the afghan over the chair, and he says “I can see her butt”!!! “

YIKES! Can you believe it! After all my squats I still have a big butt that sticks out for all to see—sheesh! And then there is the tail too. So we have to step up my workout program. Yes, that is a picture on the right of my butt sticking out of the afghan. Humiliating!

So, the exercise is getting pretty fun. I have started to get lots more aerobic time in, what with chasing my catnip mouse when I throw it in the air, playing with the laser light and then the wand feather thing—whew—that really tires me out ‘cuz I chase it like a crazy girl!

You can see me doing some upper body boxing in the photo below. That keeps my front legs and paws in good shape so I can whack someone if needed.

I have a photo of me and FM taking a nap together. She is so sweet; she reaches out and scratches my head. I just love, love, love having my whole head scratched, especially around my eyes, nose and my ears—-ooohhhh—that is sooooo nice.”

I wrote two letters to my former roomies while I was still being fostered by Mom and Dad…I think those two letters got me and Mom starting to think about blogging…it was my beginning…

Hope you had a good time reading…I like to think I have come a long way in my mental and fitness recovery as well as in my writing…certainly Mom is like WAY BETTER with the FLASH and CLICK!!! She and Dad bought a brand new camera just to make my blog photos better…gotta luvluvluv those guys!

Thankful For The Generosity of Others

Hiya! Savannah Here!

I am so thankful that my paw blog furriends are so generous with the swag they bring home from conventions or stuff they win in contests and then pass on to others through competitions or raffles…what a great and generous community are we!

Here is an example… I realized that Sparkle had a newsletter about a month ago, so of course, I subscribed. LUCKY ME…Sparkle’s staff had just come back from a visit to the Purina campus in St. Louis, with lots of Purina coupons.

You may recall, Sparkle did a drawing for all but one set of those coupons and Cathy Keisha won! Purrfect! “Cuz that nasty Sandy had just visited CK’s ‘hood and they needed food for lots of kittehs.

Well, anyways, Sparkle used one last set of those Purina coupons to give away just to subscribers for her newsletter…AND I WON!!!!

I was so excited…Sparkle was so generous with those coupons…they helped cats in New Jersey, and now they were gonna help people keep their cats in their homes in Contra Costa County in Northern California…here’s what I did with the coupons…

…the coupons….please notice they were addressed to ME!…

I told Mom and Dad to use the coupons to get as much as they could and then donate it all to my former rescue group, Contra Costa Humane Society(CCHS) for their AniMeals Pet Food Bank Program. And that is just what we did!

And Oh My Cat!…was this ever needed…this is the message on their website about the urgent need for CAT FOOD..

“ANIMEALS: Our cat food supply is nearly exhausted! Any donations of cat food (dry or wet) are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to drop donation off at our CCHS office throughout the week, or by leaving it in our AniMeals barrels outside our office afterhours. Thank you!

More and more pets are finding themselves homeless because their families are facing tough economic times. AniMeals Pet Food Bank is a partnership of Contra Costa Humane Society, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, and Pet Food Express that helps financially challenged families and individuals keep their pets in the home.”

Mom delivered the food to the barrel outside my former shelter, Kitty Corner…owned and operated by CCHS…

…it doesn’t look like much…but it looks like a lot to cats who don’t know where their families will get the money for their next meal of kibble or canned food…and Mom also finished filling the barrel with donated food from my VET! Civic Feline Clinic! They give CCHS all the dry food people return to them and they can’t resell…pretty great, huh?!

And did ya see the pretty kitty looking out of the window there at Kitty Corner…????…that’s Eli…pawsome, huh?
