Part Two: Gigi’s Journey—Socialization and playing

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

If you missed my Part One of Gigi’s Journey, be sure to visit my last post about her to truly understand just how far this kitty girl has come. And always remember, she is doing this at about AGE EIGHT YEARS OLD!!!

As you know from Part One, cutie pie Gigi wanted human pets from the very beginning. However, Mom L and Dad P did acquire a whole bunch of “paw whack” punctures over her three months in my castle as she became more and more accepting of being inside. The camera loves taking her photos!! We used some “kitty yogurt” treats early on to entice her to come close to the human’s hands.

Unfortunately, we learned that these treats, like four tubes a day, gave her the worst gas and diarrhea!! MOL!! So those treats were sent away. But by then, Gigi was already learning that her biggest treat of all was to have tons of PLAY TIME!!

She first played while caged, then she showed how much she LOVES my peacock feathers. And then, she learned to RUN after the wand toys!!  Thanks to my BFGF Cathy Keisha, I learned that absolutely no kitty, feral, semi-feral or what—will refuse that peacock feather!!!

Gigi so loved her cardboard lounge. She used it for scratching and for allowing human pets. She slept in it. It was her safety zone. Trust me, I made sure Mom L sent that with her when she moved to her forever home!

Next we needed to learn if Gigi was open to being with other cats. As you know, she was very comfy with Katie, another girl.

Sharing girl secrets!

but how would she do with a male adult cat??? We brought in an adult male kitty that is searching for his furrever home as a check point to learn if Gigi was gonna be OK with an adult male and to learn if the male kitty was OK with an adult female. All part of socializing abandoned adult kitties.

Big Boy let her sniff and then turned his back!! MOL

This Big Boy chatted a bit with Gigi then he just turned his back and took a nap!! And Gigi went back to her favorite place in the cat tower in front of the window.

By now, Gigi is ready to make her transition to her furrever home with Spitty’s human, Miss Mary. Mom L took some last minute photos to capture Gigi’s wonderful long white whiskers.

And you know all the rest because Gigi started her very own blog!!

So what have you guys all been up to lately??

Just the three of us again!!

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

If you have been reading along with my posts over the last two to three months, you probably remember me mentioning my introoder houseguest, Gigi. Well, she has finally joyfully made her way to her furever home. I’ll give you some of that back story next Monday, purromise!

I am celebrating having my castle back with only two introoders sisfurs, TKS and Katie, by sharing some recent photos of each of us. Just in case any of you have forgotten what we look like.

Me first, of course!

Next up, our beautiful house panther, Sage aka TKS.

And never least or last, little Katie aka KK.

If you wanna know where Gigi has put her paws down to claim her furever home, be sure to visit my departed San Francisco pal Spitty’s home. Spitty and I have communed and he directed Gigi to his human.

Chiquitita update

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Do you remember the abandoned park kitty Mom L trapped last week?

We named her Chiquitita after the ABBA song! Seemed to fit her potential for being bilingual! Well, Ms. Chiquitita showed off her charm within the first 24 hours of her visit to my garage!

This sweet one year old girl was immediately demonstrating her love for human interaction. She could not wait to get to anyone who opened her cage to get to them and start giving head bumps and chirps and purrs! She loved the camera!!

We are so fortunate to have such kind and compassionate partners in the community cat rescue world here in our east Contra Costa County in Nor Cal! Our former volunteer Ms. Jeanne helped us find an awesome foster within the network of Community Concern For Cats (CC4C). And, she also got sweet Chiquitita into a fast track for her spay surgery that opened the door to her jumping onto the adoption train with CC4C!!!

I am so purrleased to let you know that darling Chiquitita is now about to be posted to their social media portals and she will be ready to jump into her forever family arms ASAP!!!

How’s that for a very happy tails ending??? And, I will let you know when Chica is adopted!!

So, what have you been doing this week???
